The Tibetan spiritual leader has announced that he is giving up on China.

No matter who you're voting for, you are probably aware that John McCain is pissing off his conservative base by promoting the idea that the government should just buy up all the worthless mortgages and refinance them.

"The guy who works two jobs and struggles to actually pay his mortgage is penalized. He would be better off under this plan to just quit paying his mortgage," Lewis said. "And this fundamentally goes against a lot of conservative principles and individual responsibility."

Fortunately, Nostradamus Ayn Rand predicted all of this in her clairvoyant fictional work, Atlas Shrugged. See Part 1, Chapter 10 for the "better off to not pay his mortgage" reference. See Part 3, Chapter 7 for the "principles of individual responsibility."

Unfortunately, in the story, it turns out really bad for a while.
